Welcome to the PSWE Blog! My name is Rose Galley, your Blog Chair for the 2013-14 academic year. The purpose of this blog is simple: to ensure that every PSWE member knows what PSWE is up to! This blog is an open forum, so please comment and rate anything you wish, just keep your comments appropriate. Explore the blog by searching for topics and types of articles that interest you, and let me know if there is anything you’d like to see! As an introduction here’s a bit about me… I grew up in Cumberland, Indiana, a small town just miles from downtown Indianapolis. As a kid I was an avid reader, and I still enjoy reading when I have time! Some of my other hobbies include following current events, attending shows and concerts, hiking, and drinking lots and lots of coffee. Currently, I am a junior in Materials Science and Engineering. I am interested in working with polymers to create new materials for engineering applications. I love researching and discovering new things. I plan on drawing from my experiences as a reader, researcher, and Purdue engineer to create a blog for and about all PSWE members: past, present, and future. I applied for the job as Blog Chair because I wanted to showcase YOU. PSWE has taught me how to be a better engineer, showed me the many opportunities engineers have to make a difference in the world, and introduced me to many diverse and wonderful people. Hopefully, readers of this blog will find ways to learn, meet people, and share the opportunities PSWE offers to future Boilermakers. Please feel free to contact me with any suggestions, criticisms, or compliments. I cannot create a blog for YOU without your help.
Let’s Have a SWEet year!
