The Engineering Trade Show will be held on March 31 in the Engineering Atriums from 10 am to 3 pm. This is an event where engineering companies come to campus to display what new innovations their company have been developing. There are interactive displays where students can learn more about what is going on in engineering today.
The Trade Show was originally a career fair, but last year was altered to become more of an informative setting, open for all majors at Purdue to come learn more about engineering. Sarah Reaves, the SWE chair for the event, was elected last year in April and has helped plan for the event since summer. She shares,
This event is casual, so come in your normal clothes; this is an opportunity to ask companies about what they do and learn more about several different engineering industries.”
Purdue Society of Women Engineers is the main chair for the event. Supporting organizations include:
SASE (Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers)
MAES (Latinos in Science and Engineering)
NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers)
SHPE (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers)
These organizations have worked hard to secure interesting companies. As of now, some of the companies signed up to be on campus include General Motors, Alcoa, BP, and Whirlpool.
