Purdue will be holding our 35th annual Industrial Roundtable on Tuesday September 16th through Wednesday September 17th, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm on Memorial Mall. Students should come prepared with updated resumes and professional, but weather appropriate, attire to meet with the hundreds of companies that will be represented at IR. IR is a networking event for all students, whether you are looking for an internship, a full time job, or just want to gain professional experience talking with company representatives! Additionally the day before, on the 15th, companies will be holding informational sessions at the Stewart Center from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Some tips to prepare for IR:
- Research the companies you are interested in talking to, find out if you meet their hiring qualifications, and what they do. A list of all the companies attending can be found at https://careerfair.purdueesc.org/ir2014/.
- Prepare an elevator pitch. Write out a few sentences about who you are, what you want to do, and why you want to work for that specific company.
- Apply online for positions and upload your resume to the CCO.
- While you are at the fair, pick up a name badge at the student tent located by the statue of John Purdue in the center of Memorial Mall.
